“They can’t locate Zane based on the intel on those men who worked for him? That makes no sense to me, Merdoff,” Sodo said to him as they gathered around the meeting room at the state police department in Casper.

“You know when the feds are involved in something and they say, back off, what it means,” Cole answered for Merdoff. Franco and Bronco, their other two brothers, leaned back in the chairs and looked aggravated.

“Shit.” Sodo exhaled and he couldn’t help but to be worried about Francesca. Their relationship was taking off, she was letting them in further and further, and they wanted nothing more than to make love to her, to move her into their place and start a life with her. She was incredible. Getting stronger and stronger each day. Tonight they were going to Mulligan’s.

“So basically what you’re saying is that none of us can use our resources to locate Zane? Do the feds already know where he is and they’re waiting to catch some other criminals along with him?” Castle asked.

“It’s a good possibility, but Bronco here got a little bit different of a feeling,” Cole sad and glanced at his brother.

“Cole, what’s up?” Gordon asked.

“Based on the chatter, on inside little gossip, the feds could be trying to locate Zane and perhaps offer him a deal for giving up on a big fish. Don’t know who that big fish is, but a buddy of mine in the field says it’s hands off, and that someone is on the inside negotiating things and it’s another reason why we need to step away.”

“That motherfucker will not only get away with criminal activity and abusing Francesca for three years but will wind up free and cleared of any charges and probably sitting pretty on a fucking beach somewhere,” Century said and threw up his hands.

“And you know damn well while he’s sitting there he’ll be planning on a way to grab Francesca,” Track said.

“We won’t let that happen,” Sodo added but he wasn’t sure about any of this. They really weren’t involved in that federal investigation. It was just that their current case, a local dealer and businessman was busted for having product that was out of the ordinary. A track on his delivery guys and a truck wound up being owned by some international company and some more digging brought up ties to Adrian Colomos, a head of one of the big mafia families in Vegas and New York.

“I can understand how difficult this is for you guys, considering Francesca is your woman now, and we will do whatever we can to ensure she is safe. For now, we’ll have to step back from that avenue and start digging into the other end on this guy Arthur Fiore. He is Colomos’s right hand man and he’s been connected to various aspects of this case. He’s seen a lot at these parties in mansions where a lot of drugs and prostitution are provided for a fee of course,” Merdoff explained.
